Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner online, followed by a hands-on session. The hands-on session is completed in person with an AHA Instructor. Successful blended learning can reach students with varying learning styles and in different environments. It combines the flexibility of online training with skills practice and testing for CPR and other psychomotor skills.
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program™ is an educational training course that introduces the concepts and basic skills of neonatal resuscitation. This is a three-part course that is open to all new, expired, or current NRP card holders.
The first part of the course is self-study of the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation. The second part of the course is the NRP Online Exam. There are two sections of 25 questions, and four e-Sim Cases. The third and final part of the course is the mandatory classroom portion including demonstration, hands-on practice, skills evaluation, simulation and debriefing. You must complete Part 3 within 90 days of completing your NRP Online Exam or else the exam will need to be retaken. Successful completion of the online exam and the skills demonstration will result in an American Academy of Pediatrics/AHA NRP certification card valid for two years.
